A little bit of history...

In contrast to the extravagant, colourful style favoured by the dandies of the late 1700s, black became the popular colour in 1837 during Queen Victoria'a reign. The Dinner Jacket 1865 with Edward Prince of Wales, later to become King Edward VII fashioned a style of jacket without the traditional tails.  Formal Dress ceased to be the measure of a gentleman's standing and has remained to this day an egalitarian form of expression.

In America, The Dinner Jacket becaue known as a Tuxedo and was first fashioned in 1888 by the weathy Tobacco magnate Lierre Lorillard IV. It took it's name from the Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo Park.

Here you can order either a Dinner Jacket Only, 2 Piece Dinner Suit, or 3 Piece Dinner Suit, made to measure,  in your choice of cloth and bespoke tailoring options.
