Hacking Jacket

The cut is traditionally English, structured with suppressed waist and flare to skirt. Deep vents give an elegant look for formal or smart casual wear together with the comfort of movement for country pursuits and riding.

You can order your Tweed Hacking Jacket in any of our tweeds. Add Trousers and Waistcoat to create your Traditional Tweed Suit or choose a luxury wool suiting for a smart, traditional or contemporary business suit. For colder months, to wear as a Coat/Jacket, you can choose a Coating.   Pure Cotton and Corduroy are yet another choice.  Separate order forms are available for these different cloth types.

    Bookster tailoring

    I have ordered three tweed jackets and one covert coat from Booksterover time , the current jacket omitted something from the order which I am waiting to be rectified as I write. On the one hand the quality of the British made tweeds and suitings is excellent, the multiple measurements & options ensure you can order garments that fit very well and are unique. I give 4 out of 5 because the customer service,lack of information regarding order status, slow to respond to queries and having to chase to get a reply. From Bookster Sorry to hear you had a slow response from customer service. We do endeavor to respond within 48 hours but occasionally this isn't possible.     Superb Dugdale Cavalry Twill Jackets

    Just received two identically cut jackets from Bookster in 17oz Dugdale cavalry twill. One grey and one navy. The fabric is a strong worsted with interesting visual texture in the cavalry twill / elastique weave. Once favored for military uniforms, this stuff is durable, flexible, and bizarrely comfortable in a wide range of temperatures. The jackets were made in Bookster's "hacking" model with natural shoulders and buggy lining. Workmanship is superb. No matter how we try, American / Canadian tailoring never quite achieves the smartness they manage in Britain. Many thanks!

    Keepers Tweed Hacking Jacket

    This keeper's tweed hacking jacket is the best tailored garment I've ever owned. Bookster's attention to detail is top notch. They did the half lining very cleanly and added charming touches to the interior details that you see every time you pull it from the closet. The hacking cut works very well with heavy fabrics, half linings, soft shoulders / soft canvas, providing shapeliness without too much stiffness. The cloth is exceptional. At 32 ounces, it feels incredibly strong, but it doesn't have the heaviness of Melton cloth or overcoating in similar weight. It wears more like a heavy worsted Guernsey sweater - with similar broad comfort range. Over the past week, I wore the jacket outdoors as a topcoat, and inside while seated at the office. I hope to buy more like it soon.
