Custom Made to Measure Tailoring

History

Our Story

Bookster online tailoring company was established by Peter and Michele King in Herefordshire in 2007 and was born from their existing vintage clothing business. With a growing customer base and demand for Tweed garments (in a variety of shapes and sizes), they decided that the best way to serve their clients was to start making Tweed jackets for sale in a range of sizes.  Alongside this, customers could order in custom sizes, made to order.

Thus, Bookster Tailoring was established and made famous for The Bookster Original made to order Tweed Jacket. Popularity for the product rapidly grew and soon demand had seen the product range widen significantly, whilst maintaining the Bookster Tweed Jacket as its core focus.

In 2014 Bookster Tailoring was acquired by new owners.  To develop Bookster at that time meant that the majority of production of tailored garments needed to move to mainland Europe, where high quality, and bespoke choices could be maintained.

The acquisition has only strengthened Bookster’s client offering in terms of product range, customisation options, variety of cloth, fit, tailoring quality and customer service. Today Bookster has a customer base of satisfied clients who appreciate the quintessentially British style of Bookster's garments, its premium quality and perfect fit.

Bookster has worked hard to maintain traditional tailoring whilst fulfilling the modern day demands of online ordering. We still offer a very personal service through email or phone calls and at our small showroom in Newent, Gloucestershire, where you are welcome to visit for a Fitting and view cloths and garment samples.  Email or Call us for an appointment.
